A truly international look to a World event!

A new event today at the World Alternative Games drew big crowds and lots of enthusiastic participants: the Onduline Sheets Sheep Spectacular.

It was fantastic fun at the Llanwrtyd Wells Agricultural Show, as contestants raced against the clock as they guided a sheep a short course of their own to the finishing line.

Not even some heavy showers and occasional gusty winds could deter people from the challenge of other events that included hay bale throwing and Woolsack carrying.

And that followed a fun Friday at the World Alternative Games, with Russian egg roulette, crempog racing, conkers, barrel rolling and a multi sport time trial taking pride of place.

Visitors to Llanwrtyd Wells have included some from South Africa, the Netherlands and France - making the World Alternative Games a truly international event.

"It's wonderful, the more people hear about the World Alternative Games the more they want to come to Llanwrtyd Wells and find out more, and everyone really enters into the spirit of it all," said Karen Perkins, secretary of the organising committee.
