World Mountain Bike Bog Snorkelling Championships

Event Date: 27th of August

Mountain Bike Bog Snorkelling

The second event in the Bog Series is the madcap cycle through the 6ft deep and 45yd long trench in the peat bog.

The event has to be completed on a specially prepared bike (the frame is lead weighted and it has water filled tyres), wearing a snorkel, mask and cycle helmet - a lead belt and weighted backpack, are also worn to avoid buoyancy. Entrants have to complete two lengths of the bog – no easy feat!

Gaining in popularity and attracting huge media following, entry is possible on the day, but we recommend advance booking via the website.

2009 World Champion – Bryan Evans (00.54.91 - New world record)

2009 Local Champion – Eugene Duncan (02.36.37)

2008 World Champion – Dan Bent (00.59.19)
